What is the Young Artists Lab?

A collection of students and teachers practicing, refining and performing together in summer classes.

WHERE is the Young Artists Lab?
We are happy to announce this year's courses will be held at the BEYOND BAROQUE theater space- also home to LA Theaterworks- at

681 Venice Blvd. Venice, CA 90291

(Two blocks west of Lincoln.

Two blocks east of Abbott Kinney.)

What COURSES are being offered?

Great question.  This year we will have a bigger and better IMPROV WORKSHOP, a totally revamped and revolutionary SHAKESPEARE WORKSHOP, and our first-ever TRAVEL COURSE to NEW YORK CITY, in cooperation with Pacifica Christian High School's Department of the Visual and Performing Arts.

HOW do I SIGN UP??

Just click on a link to open an APPLICATION, form, review a COURSE DESCRIPTION, learn about our faculty, or even to pay for summer courses.  It is easy, and it will be a "highlight of your summer."

This summer's courses include:

IMPROV COMEDY WORKSHOP
SHAKESPEARE WORKSHOP

NEW YORK THEATER TRIP

Any student interested in the visual and performing arts:  Acting, Directing, Dance, TV, Film, Writing, Singing...  you name it.  Unfortunately we cannot offer every course from the past every summer.  But know that we are striving to grow every summer, offer more styles of artistry for you to  dabble in, and will be expanding soon!

There is never a reason why a child cannot take a Lab course: money, rides, scheduling issues can always be accommodated if it means we can get you to class!  And when you are here, you can be assured that success is measured on a student-by-student basis, with emphasis on
process rather than product.

All students will have personal instruction, a written progress report marking areas of both strength and room for growth, and the chance to stretch themselves in a safe, nurturing, and creative environment led by trained, professional instructors.
